Staying Grounded-A Contemplative Prayer Retreat

You might be holding it together on the outside—but inside, you’re tired in a way rest doesn’t fix.
The pace hasn’t slowed. The noise hasn’t stopped. And somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling fully like yourself.
Or maybe it’s not just exhaustion.

Maybe nothing is wrong—you’re just aware there has to be more than this.
More presence. More depth. More clarity. More life that actually feels like yours.
If either of those is true, you’re not alone.

Something in you already knows: it can’t keep going like this.

At Greater Grounds, we believe contemplative prayer is not a relic of another age.
It is a lifeline for people living in this one—especially those who are burned out, overextended, isolated, or quietly hungry for more.

This is not a lecture weekend.
This is a lived experience.
You’ll leave not just with knowledge of these practices, but with the muscle memory of having done them,
a personal practice plan, and the support of a community of fellow sojourners.
Staying Grounded is a 2.5-day guided retreat designed to help you experience three contemplative prayer
practices—not as concepts, but as lived practices you can carry into your real life.

You will be gently guided into:
Breath Prayer
Centering Prayer
The Welcoming Prayer

In a small, quiet circle at Camp Capers—on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Waring, TX,
you’ll slow down enough to notice what’s been beneath the surface—and begin to return to yourself.
