Diocese of West Texas Prepares for the 122nd Council

The Diocese of West Texas is busy preparing for the upcoming Diocesan Council 2026. The groundwork for the annual event began early in the year with logistical details being solidified and collaboration with host church committees and diocesan staff commencing.

Clergy, delegates, guests, and exhibitors will gather in Corpus Christi at the Hilliard Center (formerly the American Bank Center) Thursday, February 26 – Saturday, February 28 to conduct business and share fellowship, worship, and hear presentations from guest speakers and diocesan ministries.

Churches are in the process of selecting delegates and alternate delegates to represent their parishes and missions.  Great work occurs each year during Council and it’s a treasured time for the diocesan family to come together.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, Bishop of West Texas, has selected “Let Love Be Genuine” from Romans 12:9 as the Council 2026 theme. Listen to Bishop Read as he shares why he selected this theme.

Host churches for Council 2026 include St. Philip’s Episcopal in Beeville, and St. Francis Episcopal and Trinity Episcopal, both located in Victoria.  Click here to read the welcome message from the host church rectors.

The Rt. Rev. Craig Loya, Bishop of the Diocese of Minnesota will be the guest speaker at the Bishop’s luncheon on Friday, February 27.  Click here to learn more about Bishop Loya.
