Featured Workshops
Who Knew God Was THERE?
Presenters: Danny Myrick and Megan Linville Myrick
In this workshop, we will have a lively conversation about the beauty of God showing up in the most wonderfully ridiculous times in our lives, and how that has impacted the creative processes of our craft and of our marriage. The title comes out of our unexpected friendship with the late Leslie Jordan, actor/comedian/social media influencer, with whom we ended up making a Gospel album that featured, among others, Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker and Eddie Vedder.
Sacred Reading for Sacred Writing
Presenter: Dr. Claire Colombo
We often think of writing as a solitary act. But all writing participates in a larger conversation — with other humans, with parts of ourselves, or even with God. In this workshop, we will practice reading and writing as holy conversation. We will use a form of sacred reading akin to lectio divina to listen deeply to the words, rhythms, and images of a text. We will then allow what we heard to inform and shape a written expression of our own. What we write may be a poem, it may be a prayer, or it may be much-needed emotional processing! But it will all be sacred because it will emerge from of our communion with text, author, and one another. No reading or writing expertise required — just an open mind and a willing heart.
Journaling as a Creative and Spiritual Practice
Presenter: Carla Pineda
What does a creative and spiritual practice look like on the pages of a journal?
Believe it or not, there is no right way to do this practice. It's what works for you. You just have to "practice" and your journey on the page will flesh itself out.
Join Carla Pineda in conversation and a bit of practice to either begin or continue a journal practice. And, remember, "Practice Makes Possible" (Peggy Tabor Mullin)
Smartphone Nature Photography
Presenter: Beth Hawkins
Step outside, slow down, and see nature in a new way. In this relaxed workshop, we’ll take a gentle walk and use our smartphones to notice and capture small moments outdoors—textures of leaves, patterns in the ground, shifting light, and tiny details we often pass by. It’s less about photography skills and more about curiosity, observation, and enjoying time outside together. Bring your phone, your sense of wonder, and get ready to explore nature one snapshot at a time.
Between the Lines
Presenter: Leslie Mixson
Slow down, embrace imperfections, and rediscover play through printmaking, collage, and drawing. In this workshop, you’ll create small works that record your ideas and techniques and archive them in a concertina book.
