Summer camp at Camp Capers offers people ages 8-18 the opportunity to experience the unconditional love and friendship of a Christian community through each of our one-week sessions. Through God’s grace, Camp Capers is committed to offering fun, life-changing experiences to children and youth in a safe, Christ-centered community. Leadership at camp is provided by paid staff and volunteer counselors who go through a rigorous selection process including background and reference checks and face-to-face interviews. Paid staff must also attend a week-long training session before camp begins. Each session is guided by deans, chaplains, and teachers who are clergy and lay leaders from the Diocese of West Texas. We seek to provide opportunities for young people to encounter transforming relationships with Jesus Christ. Every camper and staff member is nurtured and cared for as a valued member of the Body of Christ.

Important Notice about Camper Photos

[May 31, 2019] In order to better serve camper parents and families, the Camp Capers staff will be using a new website to share photographs with parents and family members at Camp Capers. Previous 2019 camp communications have included information about the use of “Shutterfly” to access photos of your camper; however, to provide higher quality images and a smoother parent experience, we will be using “SmugMug” to share all digital photos of your camper this summer.

Please follow the instructions provided below, and in person during camper check-in, to access camper photos during the session and to relive the fun of camp with your camper after they return home. Photographs will be uploaded at least twice during each camp session, with any remaining pictures being added after the weekend after a session.

  1. Go to dwtx.smugmug.com/capers on any mobile smart device, laptop, or desktop computer.
  2. Enter the password provided during Check-In and click the “Let Me In” button.
  3. Select the session your camper is attending to view and browse photos of camp.

If you need assistance, or to request the password, contact the summer Media & Marketing Coordinator at ccapers.photos@gmail.com, or the Camp Capers Office at camp.capers@dwtx.org, (830-995-3966).
