Supporting Veteran and Military Families through Camps Annual Campaign

Military families and veterans are a vital part of our communities and congregations, throughout the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. We believe that camping opportunities for military members and their families should be provided at no cost, in love and gratitude for their service. Every year, the Camps Annual Campaign raises funds for scholarships for service members, veterans, and families to participate in our camping programs at Duncan Park, Mustang Island Conference Center, and Camp Capers. This year, the requests for military camping scholarships have increased exponentially, and the scholarship fund cannot meet the current need.

In the video below, the Rev. Josh Woods, Rector of Reconciliation, San Antonio and Air Force Reserves Chaplain, asks for support of the Camps Annual Campaign and shares how our camps help restore the “joy quotient,” or measurement of joy at a point in time, for veterans and military families.

Donations may be made online at dwtx.org/give, or by texting "Camp" to 210-796-6805.
