Diocesan Immigration & Refugee Ministries Announce Three Open Positions

The Episcopal Diocese of West Texas seeks three persons to fill contract positions supporting its ministry at the Plaza de Paz Respite Center in San Antonio, a daytime respite center serving newly arrived individuals and families seeking legal asylum in the United States of America. All three positions will rely on advanced fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken. Applicants must be available to work in San Antonio, in-person; primarily shifts will take place Monday - Friday, between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

The Migrant Support Services Lead will open and/or close the Respite Center for the day, create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for the migrants served, organize transportation, address migrant questions and concerns, record data accurately, and other tasks listed on the full job description, planned by the Respite Center Coordinator and supervised by the Director of Immigration & Refugee Ministries.

The Volunteer Coordinator - Migrant Support Services Lead will check-in volunteers at the Respite Center, manage volunteer training, open and/or close the Respite Center for the day, create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for the migrants served, and and other tasks listed on the full job description, planned by the Respite Center Coordinator and supervised by the Director of Immigration & Refugee Ministries.

The Immigration Ministries Driver will lead migrant transportation to and from the Respite Center, create a welcoming and clean environment for the migrants served, record mileage and numbers of people served, report van maintenance needs to the Respite Center Coordinator, and other tasks listed on the full job description, planned by the Respite Center Coordinator and supervised by the Director of Immigration & Refugee Ministries.
