Congratulations on being selected as speaker or workshop leader for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas Council 2026. We look forward to hearing about the great work you are doing. To assist you with your presentation and to ensure that visuals are engaging, consistent, and clear, we have provided an approved Diocesan Council 2026 PowerPoint template and requirements/recommendations for presenting.

Once completed, upload your presentation and script here. Your final presentation slides and script must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30.

Speaker Rehearsal and Reporting for Presenting

A Rehearsal for Speakers is being held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26 in the Henry Garrett Ballroom located on the second floor in the Hilliard Center, Corpus Christi.

On the day of your presentation, you will report to dispatch for instructions for where you will be stationed and at what time you need to be ready and in place. It is important that we have your cellphone to be able to communicate with you. Please ensure you have provided this information on the presenter form.

Guidelines

Length: Communicated in your invitation to speak.

Opening: Begin your presentation by addressing “Right Reverend Sir, and Bishop Suffragan

Conclusion: Conclude your presentation with “Right Reverend Sir, this concludes our report on _______.

Formatting: Keep main messaging succinct and limit copy. Engage with audience in conveying your primary message and don't read the copy off the slides.

Scripts:  Please submit a script with your presentation that denotes the slide number that correlates with the dialogue. This will be utilized by the communications team when advancing the slides during your presentation.

Recommendations

Keep your presentations succinct and focus on the highlights.

Report on 2025

  • Recap your 2025 accomplishments.
  • Share how your ministry or committee is positively impacting lives and communities.
  • Include engaging photos. Choose photos that include smiling, joyful scenes. Make sure your photos are clear and individuals can be seen. (No far away photos with unidentifiable subjects).
  • Recount a memorable story that demonstrates how God is working through your ministry.
  • Describe any challenges you encountered.

Transition to 2026 Plans

  • Highlight your focus for the coming year.
  • Announce upcoming events.
  • Share requests for support.
  • Close with a takeaway you want to be remembered.
