New Clergy

The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D, Bishop of West Texas appointed the Rev. Mary Keenan to serve as Vicar of St. Elizabeth’s, Buda. Rev. Keenan previously served in the Diocese of Texas. She began her ministry on Sunday, January 25.  

The Church of the Redeemer in Eagle Pass has called the Rev. Dee Bright as their new rector. Rev. Bright formerly served as the rector of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Palm Bay, Florida. He begins his ministry in Eagle Pass on Sunday, March 29th.

Ordinations

·       Tai Hewitt will be ordained into the Sacred Order of the Diaconate on Wednesday, May 13^th at 6:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s in San Saba. The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas will preside.

·       The Rev. Deepu Varughese George will be ordained into the Sacred Order of the Priesthood on Sunday, May 31 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s in McAllen, hosted by Grace Church, Weslaco.  The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas will preside.  Rev. George serves as Deacon in Charge at Grace Church in Weslaco.

·       Dr. Riva Heron will be ordained to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate on Thursday, May 28^th at Christ Chapel, TMI Episcopal, hosted by Grace Church, San Antonio. The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas will preside.

·       Susan Turlapati will be ordained into the Sacred Order of the Diaconate on Wednesday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s in McAllen.  The Rt. Rev. Angela Maria Cortiñas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas will preside.

·       Jennifer Murphy will be ordinated into the Sacred Order of the Diaconate on Sunday, June 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of Reconciliation in San Antonio. The Rt. Rev. Angela Maria Cortiñas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas will preside.
