Retirements
The following retirement notices have been received:
· The Rev. James Friedel, Rector at St. Peter’s in Rockport has announced his retirement, effective on December 31, 2025. Rev. Friedel has served at Rockport for 18 years.
· The Rev. Paul Frey, Rector at Christ Church in Laredo has announced his retirement, effective on December 31, 2025. Rev. Frey has served at Christ Church for 20 years.
The Diocese is most grateful for their faithful service and offers prayers and best wishes upon the retirement of Revs. Friedel and Frey.
Ordinations
· Deepu Varughese George was ordained into the Sacred Order of Deacons on Wednesday, November 12 at St. John’s in McAllen, hosted by St. Matthew’s, Edinburg. The Rt. Rev. Angela Maria Cortinas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas presided. He will serve at Grace Church in Weslaco.
· Meredith Joy Rogers will be ordained into the Priesthood on Friday, December 19 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Parish, Denver, Colorado.
· Hector Cruz Torres will be ordained into the Priesthood on Thursday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s in McAllen.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read will preside over the services of the upcoming ordinations.
