Ordinations

The Rev. Meredith Joy Rogers was ordained to the diaconate by the Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas on June 11 at St. Mark's, San Antonio. She will be ordained to the priesthood on Friday, December 19 at St. Barnabas in Denver, Colorado. Bishop Read to preside. More details to follow.

The Rev. Cruz Hector Torres was ordained to the diaconate by the Rt. Rev. Angela Maria Cortiñas, Bishop Suffragan of West Texas, on June 22 at Church of the Advent, Brownsville. He will be ordained to the priesthood on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 6 p.m. at St. John's McAllen. Bishop Read to preside.

Deepu George will be ordained to the diaconate on Wednesday, November 12 at 6 p.m. at St. John's in McAllen; service hosted by St. Matthew's, Edinburgh. Bishop Cortiñas to preside.

Installations

The Rev. Jamie George was installed at St. Margaret's, San Antonio on May 21. Bishop Read presided over the service.

The Rev. Joseph Dewey will be installed at Christ Church in San Antonio on Friday, September 19 at 6 p.m. Click here to learn more. Bishop Read to preside.

Retirements

Milestones

- Sunday, August 17: St. Paul's Episcopal Montessori School, San Antonio celebrated the 20th Anniversary.

- Sunday, August 24: St. Helena's dedicated a new facility connecting the historic sanctuary at Wendler Hall, creating greater accessibility for all.

- Thursday, August 21: the Rt. Rev. Dr. David G. Read, D.D., Bishop of West Texas, dedicated and blessed the new Harthan Hall at TMI Episcopal.

- Sunday, August 24, St. James', Hebbronville marked the 75th Anniversary of the dedication of their sanctuary.

- Saturday, November 22, St Andrew's by the Sea, Port Isabel, will hold a celebration event to commemorate their 70th Anniversary.
