Happening #162

Happening #162 will take place at St. Albans, Harlingen - March 6-8
H.I.S. Love #162 will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran, Harlingen - March 7-8

Happenings are spiritual renewal weekends for older high school students, led by their peers. Any student in the 10th grade through 12th grade can attend. A small number of adults may also attend. Weekends tend to fill quickly, so don't delay! You will receive detailed information about the weekend via email after you register. Each Happening begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. sharp, and wraps up around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. It is a lock-in, so prepare to stay the entire weekend.

Registration for first-time Happeners will be limited. A waiting list will be closely monitored, as usual, to make sure that if anyone becomes unable to attend the next person in line is invited to register.

The registration cost is $60, and a deposit must be paid to confirm your registration. Scholarships are available.

Please email the Happening Advisory Board Chair, Maria Bercher, at dwtxhappening@gmail.com, for scholarship information or other questions.

Please consult Participation Guidelines prior to registration.

Below is a reflection from the Happening #162 Rector

Hi!

My name is Lorena Hensch and I am so beyond blessed to serve as the Happening #162 Rector! I Happened at #157 and to tell you the truth it changed my life in such a positive way. When I first Happened I was terrified. I had been to Camp Capers and knew some of the people there, but I had no idea what I was in for. No one would tell me anything. Safe to say what I was in for was such an amazing weekend that filled my cup! Happening is such a special movement and although the people come and go through the movement the amount of love remains. We are all there for one purpose and it is to reconnect with God through not only prayer and worship, but also each other. Everyone is able to connect in some way despite it being someone you just met. I say all of this about Happening because it has been such a positive thing in my life. At the time of my first Happening I was struggling in my relationships at home and spiritually. I often felt alone. However Happening changed that. I was shown how much I am loved by God and the people around me. As I continued to be a part of Happening I found myself feeling less alone and more confident in my spirituality. When I was down I knew I had a weekend to look forward to! It isn’t all sunshine and rainbows everyday, but there is a weekend where we find ourselves letting go of our burdens and just embracing the love of God. That weekend is Happening. If you were to ask me one word to describe Happening I would say joy. The joy and love within the movement is irreplaceable and I am so beyond thankful that I get to serve the movement that has truly given me so much. We often say you only get what you give. Happening is what you make it and if you choose to give it your all and embrace what we’re all there for it can truly be life changing in the most positive way. I have faith that this movement will continue to impact others and make positive changes in people's lives.
