St. Peter's, Rockport and St. Helena's, Boerne will host the Fishin' for Mission Tournament the weekend of September 22 and 23 in Rockport. This fun fundraiser is returning to raise awareness and support for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas World Missions Department. Started in 2009, this tournament has raised funds for missions projects through the Diocese of West Texas all over the World, Africa, South and Central America, Haiti.

Tournament Rules  

Entry Fee: $85.00 per Angler $35 for Anglers under the age 17, received by September 20. Any teams that register after September 15 must send one angler to Check-In on September 22 at St. Peter's, Rockport. A maximum of 4 Anglers per team.  The tournament size is limited to the first 300 entries. Make out checks St. Helena’s/Fishin’ for Mission. You must be registered to fish!

Divisions:  Guided or Unguided divisions. Each team decides whether or not they want to hire a guide for the day.    

Check-in:  Friday, September 22, 2023, 6 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Rockport, Texas, and receive your mandatory team number. Any team without a tag will be disqualified. Rules will be explained and may be altered at this meeting, so it is advisable for at least one angler to be present.

Fish: Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 6:00am. All waters from Baffin Bay to San Antonio Bay. No jetty or surf fishing. May launch at any boat ramp of your choice.

Weigh-in:   3:00pm Saturday at St Peters Episcopal Church, Rockport, Texas.-no earlier than 1:00pm.  Must present team number at designated check point by 3:00pm to be eligible for weigh-in.

• Redfish(20”-28”): 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
• Speckle Trout: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
• Heaviest Stringer: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

• Lady Angler Award (adults, 18 years+): 1st place trophy – Heaviest Trout
• Youth Angler Award (17 years and younger): 1st place trophy - Heaviest Redfish

• Redfish with most spots: 1st place trophy
• Heaviest Hardhead:1st place trophy

• Team Stringer: Total weight of 2 Redfish and 3 Speckle Trout and any other legal game fish.
