The diocesan Department of Communications strives to connect individuals to the life and activates of the diocese, to communicate essential information for full engagement with diocesan ministries, and to provide support to diocesan ministries and congregational communications.
Spiritual Retreats in Recovery provides a safe place to deepen one's spiritual journey - open to all in recovery from alcoholism or other abuses, as well as to families and friends affected by the disease of addiction. All members of twelve-step programs (AA, Al-anon, NA, CA, ACA, etc.) are welcome to share their experience, strength, and hope with each other in a community of love and support, exploring what it was like, what happened, and what we are like now.
Retreat leader, Dr. Lindsey Neill, a physician specializing in addiction medicine, will guide us through the retreat theme, “The Science of Spiritual Transformation: How God Uses the Tools of Recovery to Rewire Our Brains and Transform Our Lives”. Rev. Andrew Green, Rector of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Beeville, will be our Spiritual Leader, as Celebrant for worship services, as well as provider of topical spiritual insight and pastoral care. In addition to various break-out session offerings, ample time is set aside for individual exploration. All friends in recovery are welcome, and no church affiliation is required.

Our mission is to reach beyond ourselves to serve all people in our communities. By participating in the tournament, you help a child or family experience an intentional Christian community where they have the opportunity to know what it means to feel like a beloved child of God. You are helping provide an amazing and meaningful experience that they might never have had if it wasn't for your participation - that's incredibly powerful - and we cannot thank you enough!

Happenings are spiritual renewal weekends for older high school students, led by their peers. Any student in the 10th grade through 12th grade can attend. A small number of adults may also attend. Weekends tend to fill quickly, so don't delay! You will receive detailed information about the weekend via email after you register. Each Happening begins Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. sharp, and wraps up around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. It is a lock-in, so prepare to stay the entire weekend.
Registration for first-time Happeners will be limited. A waiting list will be closely monitored, as usual, to make sure that if anyone becomes unable to attend the next person in line is invited to register.
The registration cost is $60, and a deposit must be paid to confirm your registration. Scholarships are available.

Join us at Mustang Island Confrence Center for a Cursilo on October 8 - 11. Deb Gardner will be the Rectora for this all Spanish retreat.
Cursillo (a Spanish word meaning "little course") gives church members the tools and "rules of life" to enthusiastically share the joys of knowing Christ with others in their everyday environments. Cursillo is patterned on Jesus' own example. He searched out and called groups of potential leaders, trained them and sent them out to bring the world to Him.The Cursillo weekend begins on Thursday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon. During the weekend, participants engage in study, reflection, fellowship, and worship.
