Semilla Grant Applications through Latino + Immigration Ministries are open
The Semilla micro-grant provides churches with seed funds to launch or expand Latino
Ministries in their congregations. With grant awards of up to $5,000, churches are invited to
explore creative ways to create welcoming spaces and build lasting relationships with Latinos in
their communities. Examples of projects that align with the goals of the Semilla grant are listed
below.
Please Note: this is not an exhaustive list. Other initiatives will also be considered.
- Updating church signage to include English and Spanish
- Purchase of statues/art (Virgen de Guadalupe, etc.), Spanish Books of Common Prayer,
Spanish Gospel book, Spanish/Bilingual music books, etc. - Musicians for special occasions
- Host a recurring community event
- Remodel church space for Latino ministry initiatives
- Translator/interpreter fees to make event(s) accessible to a larger audience
The following are examples of projects that will not be considered for funding:Please Note: this is not an exhaustive list.
- Existing ministries or projects
- Church operation budget
- Staff costs
- Church debt
- World Missions trips
- Individual assistance
To apply, please complete and submit the digital grant application form below in your preferred
language. Applications close at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Award
determinations will be made by the diocesan Latino Ministries Commission and will be
announced on Friday, October 30, 2026.
All applicants will receive a notice of the outcome of
