Bible Study Resources - Leadership Training Video

The DWTX Christian Formation Committee created a 30-minute video to help meet the needs of training new adult study leaders and empower folks interested in starting a Bible study, small group, or Sunday school class at their church. While many churches already have these groups in place, it can sometimes be challenging to recruit and train new volunteers to lead when starting a new group is needed. This video was designed to train and empower new leadership to lead adult studies in congregations around the diocese.

Several folks from the committee collaborated on this video including, Suzanna Green, Bishop’s Deputy for Christian Formation, the Rev. Nancy Springer, Carter Huber, and the Rev. Reagan Gonzalez. The video covers topics including how to start, plan, prepare, and host a Bible study at your church. Gather a group together to watch the video together or individuals can watch at their own pace. If used in a group setting, the committee recommends stopping the video at the end of each section to discuss how it relates to your congregation. For those interested in one particular topic, it is divided into sections. Simply click on a particular section to go to that part of the video and watch it.

If you or folks in your congregation watch this video and find yourselves wanting to go deeper into this topic here are a few options. There will be a Bible Study Leader Tips and Tricks Workshop hosted by the Christian Formation Committee at the “We Will Continue” gathering this September. If you are unable to attend that gathering but want more information on this topic, please email Suzanna Green at formation@dwtx.org.
