Flood Clean-Up Service Saturdays

Camp Capers continues to recover after the July 16th flood event that affected much of the Texas Hill Country. Although no camp facilities were affected by the flood, there still remains a lot of debris scattered over the property with several high-use program areas both debris laden and damaged. We are welcoming any and all helpful hands to camp for several service days throughout the Fall – please see the dates below. Please consider coming to your Texas Hill Country camp home to help us continue to recover, rebuild, and clean-up after this summer’s flood. These clean-up service days will be volunteer-led and will start at 9 AM. Water and lunch will be provided. Any volunteer under the age of 16 will need to have a parent/guardian or adult chaperone present.

Clean-up projects will involve small to large wood debris removal, extensive pressure washing, cleaning, organization, and minor repairs to programmatic structures. Areas of high priority include our river access areas by the Pointe and Stocker Amphitheater, low ropes course, garden, and the meditation trail and Back 40. Depending on the clean-up progress of certain areas around camp during the fall, work and priorities may shift. Prior to each service day, those individuals signed up will be contacted with details about specific projects and goals for the day, arrival and check-in instructions, any tools or other items to bring, and any other pertinent information for the day.

Please sign up for one or multiple service days at the following link: Flood Clean-Up Service Days at Camp Capers.

We are incredibly grateful for your love, support, and dedication as we continue to recover.
