The Diocese of West Texas is dedicated to offering camping and retreat experiences grounded in Christian faith - set in scenic, natural locations that nurture spiritual connections and growth.  Rooted in faith, love, + community, our campand retreat programs are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and loving, environment for children, youth, and adults to work, play, and grow together as they develop a community of trust, openness, and sharing.

Our diocesan camping program is devoted to bringing people of all ages and backgrounds to Jesus Christ so they may reach into the world in his name.

The Diocese of West Texas has been serving campers for over 75 years. Our campaign program has something for everyone - whether you are searching for a summer youth camp, family camp, or retreat, we provide memorable, camping experiences. Our commitment to safety and transparency is the highest priority.  Each year, our youth camps - Camp Capers and Duncan Park - are accredited by the American Camps Association, undergoing a rigorous evaluation to help ensure our programs are safe, nurturing, and welcoming experiences for campers and retreat participants.

Summer Camps

Sessions fill up quickly. Camp Capers offers a variety of activities from hiking, zip lining, arts and crafts. Plan your family beach getaway at Mustang Island or venture to the beautiful Colorado mountain scenery. All camps offer chapel and spiritual enrichment.

Camp Capers

Your Hill Country Home

Camp Capers, Your Texas Hill Country Home opened its doors to campers in 1947. Nestled amongst God’s beautiful scenery,  campers enjoy outdoor activities and build faith and connections.Camp Capers offers children and youth  the opportunity to experience the unconditional love and friendship of a Christian Community. At Camp Capers, we seek to provide opportunities for young people to encounter transforming relationships with Jesus Christ.

Camp Capers offers a variety of camps including summer and mid-winter youth camps, and weekend retreats such as the Mother/Daughter and Father/Son weekends, Cursillos, church, school, and spiritual retreats, and off-site meetings for organizations.

Duncan Park

Your Mountain Home

Duncan Park is a mountaintop get way, located 20 miles west of Boulder, Colorado. This alpine jewel captures the rugged beauty of the surrounding mountains and allows for a true respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Duncan Park offers summer camp sessions for junior high school, college students, and adults, flus several Family Camp sessions and hosts retreat weekends.

Mustang Island

Your Island Home

Mustang Island Conference Center is a seaside retreat center on 22 acres. The conference center provides a sacred place that offers our guests uninterrupted time for families and retreat guests to share time, enjoy beach time, rest, reflection and renewal surrounded by God's coastal creation. The Conference Center is open year-round, and serves all God's children as a ministry of Christian hospitality to all.

Scholarships

Every child should have the opportunity to attend a camp. The Diocese of West Texas Camp Scholarship fund provides financial assistance for campers. Over 30% of camp attendees each year receive a scholarship.
