World Missions Mother's Day Offering
Join World Missions and the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas as we wish a happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, mentors, and friends who enrich our lives.
The annual World Missions Mother's Day Offering is an opportunity to recognize the women in our lives who nurture, teach, and lead with a gift in their honor or memory. Donations to the Mother's Day Offering support women and children worldwide, through a variety of World Missions partnerships.
On Sunday, May 9, congregations are invited to take up a special World Missions Mother's Day Offering, focusing on the global impact of this gift and raising awareness of the mission partnerships supported by the local church and the Diocese. Information and resources, including the World Missions Catalog, can be found online, at dwtx.org/worldmissions.
This year, World Missions is collaborating with the Bishop's Happening Movement to bring youth from the Episcopal Church in Navajoland, and their sponsors, to Happening in August 2021. Happenings are spiritual renewal weekends for older high school students, led by their peers. Focusing on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, faith is seriously explored in a relaxed, fun, and informal atmosphere. This lock-in style retreat nurtures a desire to understand and serve the Church in young people, as well as teaching ways to continue learning about the Christian faith.
Helped by the Mother's Day Offering, this partnership will provide an opportunity for youth from both dioceses to form friendships with one another and strengthen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, together. After the youth from Navajoland participate, they will bring what they've learned back to their home churches and launch a Happening Movement chapter in Navajoland.
There are three ways for congregations and individuals to give to the Mother's Day Offering:
- Online, at dwtx.org/give, indicating "Mother's Day Giving" on the form.
- Text "MothersDay" to (210) 796-6805.
- Mail a check to the diocesan office*, made out to "DWTX" and labeled "Mother's Day Offering."

Don't forget to let her know you've made an online donation to the World Missions Mother's Day Offering in her honor. Contact Catherine Markette, World Missions Ministries Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org, to request a postcard (or two!) from World Missions so that you can send it to the important women in your life, notifying them of the gift and letting them know you care.
