CPC donation for books lost to Hurricane Harvey

Two groups in the diocese recently made donations through the Church Periodical Club to replace books that were lost due to Hurricane Harvey in Texas coastal towns. Donations from the Spring Women's Gathering at Camp Capers and proceeds from a rummage sale at St. Francis by-the-Lake, Canyon Lake, were presented to Bishop David Reed by Betty Morris at the Episcopal Church Women's Luncheon during the ECW Triennial and General Convention on July 9, held in Austin, Texas.  Mrs. Jennifer Wickham, bishop's deputy for disaster recovery, will assist in distributing the donations.

"Jennifer will be able to help decide just what books and materials can be purchased. The money can be used for Vacation Bible School materials, electronic books, or other needs of the areas," said Morris. The donation totaled $100.

The Church Periodical Club (CPC) is an affiliated ministry of The Episcopal Church. Its ministry is to supply books, magazines, tapes, videos, and computer programs free to those who need them and cannot otherwise obtain them.
