We serve Christ by helping our neighbors at GCAM (Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministry). Every weekday we offer food and other help to Gonzales County. For almost 30 years, GCAM has helped provide meals for anyone who is in need. We also help Meals on Wheels by assisting with their fuel cost and adding extra fresh food to their deliveries. We also support AA and Boy Scouts by providing space and other kinds of support.
Messiah is 175 years old, but the Holy Spirit continues to help us spread the Good News! Come join us!

The Rev. Kara Leslie, Rector

The Rev. Kara Leslie was raised in the panhandle of Texas. She attended Emory University and received an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from there. She then earned a Master's in Education Psychology at Texas Tech University. She received the Dean's Scholarship to Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where she received a Master of Divinity. She most recently received a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Bexley Seabury in Chicago.
Rev. Kara is also a Board-Certified Chaplain for over 20 years and completed 8 units of CPE.
She is the proud mother of Blair (Freshman at University of Tennessee), and Kris, and Jake (Seniors attending All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas).
Kara enjoys playing tennis, cooking, dancing, and playing with her dog Roscoe.

Messiah is a warm parish with deep roots in history and service to the community.
We see each other as living members of Jesus Christ and are empowered to share the message of grace and love.
Started in 1851, we have continued to meet for prayer and sacraments for almost 175 years. Our current church was built in 1881-2. We have carefully and respectfully refurbished the church building and the other buildings on our campus. We have a beautiful Columbarium surrounded by a garden of native flowers and greenery. It is open for prayer to all.

Messiah is a warm parish with deep roots in history and service to the community.
We see each other as living members of Jesus Christ and are empowered to share the message of grace and love.
Started in 1851, we have continued to meet for prayer and sacraments for almost 175 years. Our current church was built in 1881-2. We have carefully and respectfully refurbished the church building and the other buildings on our campus. We have a beautiful Columbarium surrounded by a garden of native flowers and greenery. It is open for prayer to all.
