March 18

Psalm 34:5  Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

We are a society ridden with guilt, fear and shame. Where does it all come from?  We weren’t born with it.  It pricks us like bee stings over time, with a lasting effect as we begin to accept all the bites as truth.  Before we are even adults we have planted in our minds beliefs about ourselves that God never intended, for He is a God of love and we are His children!  Nothing that comes from Him is negative or damaging to our spirit.

The good news is He is waiting to heal us from these painful scars because He wants us to be nothing less than whole.   The lies are replaced with His truth.  The freedom begins the moment Jesus breathes truth into us.

All He asks in return is for us to love Him and be in relationship with Him.  How hard can that be with the One who removes all the junk from us so we can be set free?  It is only when we are free that we can truly worship and love the Lord with our whole heart.

Thank you, Lord, that You want me to be free of all the lies that have weakened my spirit.  Empty me of my own junk and fill me with the beauty of Your Spirit, setting me on fire to worship and praise You. Amen.
