	Saturday, August 1 Women's Mini Gathering in Victoria, TX - Coloring Your Prayers, Opening Your Heart Join the Rev. Faith Bledsoe for a one day workshop. 	August 5 in San Antonio Diocesan Night at the Ballpark Two games this summer. We have reserved seats for families and friends to watch the San Antonio Missions vs. the Corpus Christi Hooks. 	Wednesday, August 12 Brown Bag Lunches - TBA - Join us. Brown bag lunches is open all diocesan parish, school and service agency communicators to meet together every 2nd Wednesday of each month. We will be at the Bishop Jones Center from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. and will feature communication topics and discussions. Please bring your lunch and the diocese will provide something to drink. 	August 22 Summer World Mission Symposium From 9:30 am to 3 pm, the Summer World Mission Symposium will be held at the Bishop Jones Center. This year’s topic: Engaging with Islam, will be presented by speakers from near and far including Getachew, a former Muslim, who will share his personal story of conversion to Christianity. Sandra Casey-Martus, former Director of the Alta Retreat Center in Wyoming and co-author Carla Mancari for an intensive (primarily silent) retreat of Christ Centered Prayer, engagement of Sacred Scripture, optional daily celebration of the Holy Eucharist, and theological reflections on the spiritual journey. 	Friday, November 13 The 2009 Bishop's Golf Classic Will be held at Canyon Springs Golf Club to benefit the youth of the diocese. A shotgun start will be at 12:30 p.m. and the awards reception and dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will be many awards and prizes. To view flyer, click here.

	Saturday, December 12 A workshop entitled Mary, the Mother of God From 9:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m. the workshop will be presented in Tyman Hall at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio. Co-sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas and Oblate, this workshop will be presented by James Dennis, St. Luke’s, San Antonio, as Course Director, with commentators Bishop Bob Hibbs, Diocese of West Texas.
