February 9 - 2012 Payne Lecture and the Campaign for Leadership will be held at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin on Thursday, February 9, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Knapp Auditorium. The 2012 Payne Lecture will feature James "Jay" Magness, Bishop Suffragan for the Armed Services and Federal Ministries, and his topic will be: "Moral Leadership in the Temple and Public Square: Missional Requirements for a New Era." March 4-8 - The Oblate School of Theology will present their third annual Contemplative Retreat entitled "People of Pilgrimage: The Holy Longing" beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, and continuing through to noon on Thursday, March 8. This retreat will be led by the Rev. Ron Rolheiser, Roman Catholic priest, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, and current president of Oblate. March 11 - The San Antonio Community of Congregations will sponsor the 29th Annual San Antonio CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, March 11. Registration begins at 2:00 p.m. at Comanche Park #2 (2600 Rigsby Avenue). CROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service, an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency. Funds raised by the walks nationwide are used by CWS to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world. June 20-23 - The 15th annual Dallas Benedictine Monastic Experience will take place at the Catholic Conference and Formation Center in Dallas, from Wednesday, June 20 through Saturday, June 23. Participants will live on the campus of the center for four days, forming a temporary monastic community to experience the balanced way of life of the Rule of St. Benedict.
