Habitat for Humanity

The diocesan task force for Habitat for Humanity works with local Habitat affiliates in cities throughout the diocese to fulfill the commitment to build at least one house in each town in the diocese with an affiliate.

If anyone in your church is interested in joining the Diocesan Task Force on Habitat for Humanity, we meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas at 11:30 AM. We are looking for more churches around the diocese to be represented.

Annual Father's Day Offering
The Diocesan Task Force on Habitat for Humanity wants to thank everyone who has participated in the Father's Day Offering fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity in the past. This is a wonderful ministry that insists that recipients of a house help themselves and others in the building of houses. This campaign is a great opportunity to honor the special men in our lives by giving a special offering to Habitat for Humanity in their names.

In 2010, the money that was raised through this campaign allowed the Diocese of West Texas to give three $10,000 grants to churches around the diocese, plus a $1,000 tithe to the International Habitat for Humanity per grant. These grants helped churches who wanted to build a Habitat house in their area, but did not have quite enough money.
