About Camp Capers & Mustang Island:
Camp Capers and The Mustang Island Conference Center are the two primary locations where the mission of the Camps and Conferences Department is fulfilled.  Camp Capers serves over 1200 young people every year through mid-winter and summer camps. Over 150 young people serve as paid and volunteer staff members each year at Camp Capers. The facility is also home to countless year-round retreats and gatherings.  The Mustang Island Conference Center is a premier conference facility owned and operated by the Diocese of West Texas. Its location on Mustang Island near Corpus Christi makes it an attractive site for camp and conference ministry. Mustang Island Conference Center opened for guests in 2003. The core program offered by the Mustang Island Conference Center is Mustang Island Family Camps. Now in their fourth year, these camps have become times of refreshment, fun and spiritual formation for the families of the Diocese of West Texas. The diocesan budget underwrites the camping program to keep camp costs affordable for diocesan families.
