DWTX Recreational Softball
Sundays, March 4 - May 6 (excluding Easter Sunday, April 4)
Softball begins Sunday, March 4, and games will be played at 2:00 p.m. We will play again at Rusty Lyons Field #1 (corner of McCullough and Basse). DWTX Recreational Basketball
Tuesdays, December 20 - February 21, 2012
DWTX Sports Recreational Basketball returns for another season. Beginning Tuesday, December 20, games will be played each Tuesday at the St. Luke's, San Antonio, gym from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Pickup games will be played with whomever shows up, so please bring a white t-shirt and colored t-shirt to help distinguish your team. High school kids and all adults are welcome to participate. Churches, encourage your high school youth to come out and play. A medical release is required. About the DWTX League:

Several Episcopal parishes in San Antonio and a couple of other denominations formed a coed recreational league that has been playing volleyball in the fall and softball in the spring since the mid 1980s. We recently added basketball for the first time in several years.

This is a low-pressure, fun way to spend an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon. We make allowances for all skill levels, because of the variety of people who may show up during the season. Females and boys under thirteen are especially needed, because we want to have a certain number playing at a time. Kids are welcome if their parents play, too. We recommend that they be middle school age or older or have experience playing in a organized sports league. 

Softball games are played at Rusty Lyons Field in San Antonio (Basse & McCullough) from late February to mid-May. There is a participation fee for each team to cover the cost of field rental.

Volleyball games are played at St. George Episcopal Church in San Antonio (West Ave & NW Military Hwy) from the Sunday after Labor Day to mid-November. There is no fee for a team.

Pickup basketball games are played at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in San Antonio (south of Basse on Jones-Maltsberger) from early January to late February There is no fee for participation.
