Nestled under cottonwoods and oaks is the swimming pool surrounded by a grassy lawn and seating areas. The entrance to the pool opens up onto the Centrum, a large covered pavilion with sports court used for basketball or other activities.
Summer camp registrations take place under the Centrum and it is usually the first place new campers see.
Before there was the Camp Capers Pool, there was the river. The Guadalupe river was the first "pool" where many campers cooled off in the heat of the day.
The Camp Capers Pool was originally located in the middle of the current circle drive. If you ever swam in the original pool, you probably have fond memories of doing flips off the diving board. The pool was filled in, and was moved, redesigned and connected to the Centrum. Today's pool is not very deep and has a nice grassy area around it. However, if you attemp to sunbath watchout because you might be thrown in the pool.
