Prayers by children as part of Thy Kingdom Come

The children of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School in Edinburg recently took part in Thy Kingdom Come. After hearing about the global effort, they watched a short video about prayer. They wrote the names of up to five people for whom they pledged to pray for the ten days between the Ascension and Pentecost, and they pinned the names to the cross at the front of the school chapel.

By May 18th they had covered the cross with names of people they were praying for along with prayers posted by the congregation. Their prayers centered around an excerpt from the Prayers of the People … that those they pray for might find and be found by Jesus. Pictured above is the Kindergarten class.
